North Wales Police
North Wales Police (Heddlu Gogledd Cymru) is the territorial police force responsible for policing North Wales.
With a population in the region of 690,000 people living across 2,500 square miles, coupled with the thousands of visitors each year to the tumbling rivers, lakes and the mountains of Snowdonia, the area is one of the busiest regions for Search and Rescue activity within the United Kingdom.
The statutory responsibilities of North Wales Police extend to inland Search and Rescue, where the organisation acts as the tasking authority for, and works in partnership with the area’s 6 Mountain Rescue Teams, North Wales Cave Rescue and the Search and Rescue Dogs Association (Wales).
